Personal year number calculator
Find your numerology personal year number for any calendar year, and see where you are in the nine-year cycle.
What is a personal year number?
In numerology your personal year is a number from 1 to 9 that describes the theme of a calendar year for you. The numbers run in a nine-year cycle, so year 1 is a time of new beginnings and year 9 a time of completion, after which the cycle starts again.
How it is calculated
Add together your birth month, your birth day and the calendar year, reducing each to a single digit first, then reduce the total to a single digit.
Example: born 17 May, looking at 2026. Month 5. Day 17 gives 1 + 7 = 8. Year 2026 gives 2 + 0 + 2 + 6 = 10, then 1. Total 5 + 8 + 1 = 14, then 1 + 4 = 5. That is a personal year 5.
Some numerologists keep the master numbers 11 and 22 and do not reduce them. This calculator always reduces to 1 to 9, which is the most common convention. Another variation starts a new personal year on your birthday instead of 1 January; here the year follows the calendar year.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need my birth year?
No. A personal year uses only your birth month and day, together with the calendar year you want to look at.
What is the personal year cycle?
The numbers run 1 through 9 and then repeat. Each calendar year moves you one step along. The calculator shows the next nine years from the year you choose.
What if I get 11 or 22?
Some systems keep these as master numbers. This calculator reduces everything to a single digit, so 11 becomes 2 and 22 becomes 4.
Does my personal year start on my birthday?
Conventions differ. This calculator uses the calendar year, from 1 January to 31 December.
Is numerology scientific?
No. Numerology has no scientific support. It is a symbolic tradition, and these readings are for entertainment and reflection.
